Inspiring Ideas to Run a Successful Fundraising Campaign and How to Involve a Community
There are many different ways to organise a fundraising. But if you are brand willing to raise a fundraising campaign you should pick THE topic you care about. It can respond to an artistic, scientific, technologic or charitable purpose.
In this article I am not talking about collective online fundraising campaigns, which have become very popular in the past years and are great if you are intending to launch a new product or project. The one I am about to present is focused on a fundraising campaign combined with many actions, events and partners in the country. Still great, so hope you get inspired by it!
So one day, a guy called David arrived to our office with the idea of creating the first Association Against the Cancer in Andorra, the name was ASSANDCA. He had overcome the illness just a year ago and his co-founder Josep lost his wife a few months earlier… It’s a sad story, indeed. And sometimes, the best ideas and most amazing stories come from people that had to overcome bad experiences in their lives; these both gentlemen decided to solve any issues related to this nasty illness for the entire country.
They wanted to create an Association that would support the fight against this disease by getting the society involved. So we organised events that helped us to get funds: from solidary cycling, yoga and marathon sessions (using local business as supportive partners – here some examples for sustainable marketing). All participants would pay a small fee to participate and also get a beautiful T-shirt with the mission printed (which they would for use use again and spread awareness of the existence of ASSANDCA organisation.)
We included in our client's Marketing strategy Corporate Social Responsibility actions and we organised fundraising events that would benefit ASSANDCA (read more about Synergy Marketing here). We connected heaps of different businesses; sport teams, other organisations and institutions (including the Government) that were willing to give support to the many people with the illness. All these actions ended-up by having a large PR impact on media (read more about PR Marketing here).
By organising such events, the society participated in activities in different ways. The association grow quickly, and is now managing and funding projects such as sports training for the cancer survivors, providing urgent ambulance service to transfer patients to Barcelona; last but not least, they also have started organising conferences for medical professionals to discuss research and different ways of improving the everyday life of people suffering the disease.
