Street Marketing is great! It’s an entirely different kind of communicating. It comes out of the box, out of the standard formats (paper, digital, audio-visual…). It is creative. It is performance. It is the EXPERIENCE!
Street Marketing is very common to see in the major cities; there are always limitations and you need to make sure you check with your local Council before starting to organise anything!
We organised a street marketing event for our client Bingo Cristall; we used an old slot machine and decorated it for the game. Every year the Council holds an event called Vivand, which intends to revive the shopping area of a particular street. So all the shops came out with showcases and freebies: make-up, hairdressing, food tasting, and raffles.
As I mentioned in the reputational marketing article, with this client we were aiming to change the perception folks had about Bingos and make it look as if it was a “regular” activity (basically, it didn’t have to be a vicious game just for elder people -with all my respects). And with Street Marketing we had the opportunity to give a positive experience to the pedestrians or those who actively participated.
